Bungou Stray Dogs 01Bungou Stray Dogs Synopsis

Nakajima Atsushi was expelled from the orphanage and has no place to live or to eat. As she stands by the river, starving, she saves a man who was ridiculously suicidal. His name is Dazai Osamu, he and his partner Kunikida are members of a very special detective agency.

Possessing supernatural powers, they are asked to handle cases that are too dangerous for the police and military. They investigated the appearance of the tiger which coincided with Atsushi’s arrival in the area as well. The tiger case seems to have something to do with Atsushi, and as this case is solved, Atsushi’s future will be involved with Dazai and the rest of the detectives!

Bungou Stray Dogs 02Bungou Stray Dogs Storyline

This Bungou Stray Dogs anime tells the story of a detective who is wrapped in supernatural powers. So they have different supernatural abilities. From the first episode, it has shown its detective plot by solving the man-eating tiger case. Also shows off the power that one of the detectives has. Let’s say his name is Dazai. It’s just that the execution of the story, especially the solving of the case is less interesting.

In the sense of such evidence – evidence that is less accurate or complete. It feels like an instant. So immediately know the cause, that’s it. Like the example in episode five, when Rampo solves a case. I admit the method is quite good and interesting. But again – again, there is no further explanation why the case can be solved.

Bungou Stray Dogs 03Bungou Stray Dogs Characters

Character introduction is done in stages, from episode to episode. The ones highlighted most often are Atsushi, Dazai, and Kunikida. Of course, each of them has different abilities. Not only that, but the names of each character’s abilities are also a bit difficult to understand. So I’m not going to talk about that.

Well, speaking of abilities. Has anyone watched To Aru Majutsu no Index? the main character has an ability where if he touches another person, that person’s ability will be useless. It means disabled. Just like Dazai on BSD (Bungo Stray Dogs). He is the same, only this Dazai is described as a great person. Unlike the Index anime that I previously mentioned. There was also Kunikida, she has very strong ideals.

Bungou Stray Dogs 04He also likes to carry a notebook, the book contains idealism that he wrote himself. Maybe you could say the book is a guide to his life. His own ability to make things come true with the writings he wrote from paper. However, the object created can only be as big as a notebook. Then Atsushi, you could say he is the main character in the BSD anime. He can turn into a tiger under the moonlight.

It’s just that he changed not of his own will. So he couldn’t control himself when he changed. Well, strangely enough when he was able to control his power, there was no explanation as to how to control his power. So it’s like being left alone. I think there will be a story of training to control his strength.

Well, I’m not going to explain all the characters. What is clear is that apart from the above, there are also Rampo, Yosano, Chief armed detective, Tanizaki and his sister Naomi, and the antagonist, Akutagawa. Meanwhile, until episode six, Rampo (can solve cases briefly), Tanizaki (changes into a screen) and his sister, and Akutagawa.

Bungou Stray Dogs 05Bungou Stray Dogs Art

The art of Bungou Stray Dogs is pretty good. It’s just that the fighting scene doesn’t have an interesting impression. Moreover, in the fourth episode that was shot, it was only one image that was made to move (vibrate… maybe?) to make it look eerie. I think this anime talks more than the action.

Apart from that, explosion effects and character image changes in certain scenes can be a plus. Even though sometimes it doesn’t quite fit, when it’s fun, the character turns into a joke.

Bungou Stray Dogs Ost

Opening Song: Trash Candy by GRANRODEO and Ending Song: Namae wo Yobu yo by Luck Life. I like the ending song, it’s nice to hear. Oh, so I remember, for some reason, looking at the illustration for the ending song,

I felt that Akutagawa and Dazai were twins, or was it just me? Apart from that, the sound effects are as I discussed in the Art tag. Get added value, enough to make the story flow.

Bungou Stray Dogs Overall

Storyline : 8 / 10
Character : 7 / 10
Art : 7.5 / 10
Ost : 8.5 / 10
Bungou Stray Dogs : 8 / 10

This anime is pretty fun too. For those who like mysteries, detectives, this anime is suitable to watch. Just don’t expect to be more like detective Conan. Because the way the story is executed is much different.
